My
Obstacles and Successes
First
of all, my life in Indonesia starts from September 28, 1974. I was born in
Tangerang city, with 3 sisters and 3 brothers. We are educated to more
knowledge than only money or properties. It is why my parents, my eldest
brother, my elder brother, and eldest sister always encouraged their younger
brothers and their younger sisters to learn, study, and work hard. By the time,
I was 16 years old, I already could drive properly to help my eldest brother’s
business. It means a young boy with primary school finished. I drove a pick up
car since in the first level in my high school. Suddenly my only mother died when I
was in about my 18th years of age. Since then my life should more
extra work hard. I wanted to look after myself, and I tried to finish my B.A.
degree with my own small business. I sold some various plastics from my
father’s business. I took or bought from my father, then I sold and delivered
to some customers in other cities. This small business helped me to get my B.A.
degree. Finally, I graduated with a B.A. degree in UKRIDA (Christian Krida
Wacana University) in Jakarta about 1993.
However, life was going on like
water flow down from the mountain to the river. I had my own business selling
re-cycled paper to some of the traditional markets. Also, I could supply more
re-cycled paper to some paper factories. In the holiday of my business, I would
became practice meditation in some centers. I more interested and concerned to
see, feel, prove, and experience these meditation practices. So, I was ordained
as a monk at 35th years old.
I wanted to be volunteer as a monk.
In this monk-hood, I tried to finish my education as Master of Art degree. Because of this studying was advised by my meditation's teachers & my masters. Fortunately, I got my M.A. degree even though I had no money. Some laymen
(devotees) and supporters offered some money to solve my financial problem. Nowadays, I am
taking Ph.D. program in Mahidol University in Bangkok of Thailand Kingdom, which I decided to postpone my studying. Again this is because my meditation's teachers & my masters suggested. However, recently that I was studying at the Community Education Center of Pasadena City College, and now I am studying at the Glendale Community College in California of the USA, which
I am struggling to learn English as Second Language or ESL. Hopefully, I will
continue and try to get of double Ph.D. degree in one's University in the USA, or UK, or somewhere by scholarship or financial aid. I wish to finish my Doctorate Degree in Ph.D or Th.D Program in the future, which everything is only depending with my personal perfection (paramitha). Finally, I hope that whole of my life in the future can be smooth and peaceful forever.
